A simple dipping sauce to be served along with the Banh It Tran/Mung beans dumplings. First i wasn’t prepared to make a dipping sauce, i thought that onion oil itself will be enough, but then how can we eat it without something saucy, spicy by the side? And then this sauce was so easy to make, so i couldn’t stop myself making this.
While making it though i was not sure of the taste, but then once made, i liked that tangy and spicy punch of it. It paired so well with the dumplings, along with onion oil.
Ingredients
2 tbsp Soy Sauce
1/4 cup hot water
2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped or better minced
1 tsp of green chili sauce
juice of a lemon
1 tsp sugar
Method
- Mix together sugar and hot water, stir until sugar dissolves.
- In another bowl, mix together, soy sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, chili sauce. To this add the sugar water and mix well. Adjust soy sauce or chili sauce according to your preference
- Serve it as a dipping sauce along with dumplings. I served it with Banh It Tran/Mung beans dumplings
