Usually, after washing the berries, you can pat them dry in a paper towel and leave them aside for 5 mins.. then chop them and again let them give off the juice..and add some flour(1/2 tsp) to coat the berries, to absorb excess water. That way the berry will also stay attached to the batter and will not settle at the bottom of the pan..I pureed them so that I do not have to add extra liquid(egg/milk)..Let me know if this works.
