I m Priya Srinivasan, the camper in this kitchen. I m born and brought up in Chennai, India. Now I live in Sharjah, UAE with my husband and my two boys.
Being the eldest in my family, i took natural interest in cooking. The sizzle, sound and the smell in the kitchen excites me.
My husband’s family, all are hard-core foodies. My father-in-law is also a wonderful cook. This interest made me to experiment more with regional and international cuisine.
I m a happy person in the kitchen, kitchen is my creative canvas, my zen. I love to cook for my friends, family and anyone who loves to enjoy good food. The love and joy in cooking and serving to those who enjoy good food can never be explained in words.
I CAMP IN MY KITCHEN
I Camp in my Kitchen is a vegetarian and vegan blog, with Indian and International recipes. The recipes in this space are tried and tested in my kitchen. All the recipes have to pass strict quality control by my guinea pigs and also my harsh critics, My 3 B(u)oys.
As a south-indian and tambrahm, i mostly cook Indian recipes at home, and particularly tamil brahm recipes. Living in UAE, a true cosmopolitan hub, we get to experiment other cuisines also and naturally as a foodie, we try them at home too. That is how my Baking archive grew. As a vegetarian we dont eat eggs, so all my baking is egglesss.
MY OTHER INTERESTS
Photography is my second interest. When i started my blog i had a panasonic digicam, i never knew a thing about photography, light or angles. I slowly read about food photography, upgraded my camera to Nikon D5100 and now i have a Nikon D750. As a food blogger, my natural inclination was towards food photography, now i m trying to click beyond food, landscapes and portraits are my personal favorites.
