Eggless Sugarless Chocolate Cake and Awards!!!!!

Jan 2, 2011 · Modified: Jun 9, 2025 by Priya_Srinivasan ·

Sharing is caring!

Happy New Year Friends!! Hope you all had a great party on the New Year Day!!!! We too had a great time. On 31st December we went on a trip to Fujairah with a group of Friends. On 1st Jan, My cousin brother arranged for a Ganapathi Homam @ his place. We Got up early @ 4:30 am, went to the Pooja and came back home @ 12 in the noon and Slept crazy till 6 in the evening!!!! It was total fun.
With all this Fun, i did some baking too. The Original Recipe is from Arundathi's Food Blog. I tried these muffins, they were wonderful. I wanted to try a Sugarless Version of the same, I tried substituting Sugar with Molasses and Chocolate chips!!!! Voila, It was a success and it was a bit difficult to believe, it didnt have actual sugar in it, but tasted sweet!!!! 🙂
I made 2 batches of Cake!!!! One Batch i baked and the other one i Microwaved it as CupCakes!!! Both turned out good!!!!

Ingredients
¾ cup All Purpose Flour
¼ cup Wheat Flour
¾ teaspoon Baking Soda
¾ Cup Buttermilk
2 tablespoon Oil
4 tablespoon Molasses
½ cup Dark Chocolate Chips
3 tablespoon of Silvered almonds

Note: The Molasses and the Chocolate Chips together Substitutes ¾ cup of Sugar!!!

Method
Sieve All Purpose Flour, Wheat Flour, Baking Soda in to a bowl. Add the Wet ingredients one by one and Mix it together to a smooth paste. Add Choco Chips and Almonds and Give a Stir. Try not to over mix, a Smooth stir, with a Spatuala. The batter will be of dropping consistency.

Now fill batter in the Cake pan, i used two silicone heart-shaped moulds. fill ¾th of the Pan and Bake @ 180C for 20-30 minutes. The Baking time differs from Oven to Oven. Insert a tooth-pick test in the center of the cake, if it comes out clean, then the cake is done. Mine was done in 28 minutes.
For the Microwave Version, i used individual Cup-cake Moulds. MW high for 5 minutes. Again, this time varies from oven to oven, The Cake should rise and be spongy. Try to Start @ 2 minutes, MW again if needed.
1.Ready to go into the MW 2. Out in 4 mins
3. Decorated with some Choco Syrup 4. Diggin in!!!!!
