½ cup labneh/curd cheese, i used store-bought, incase u want a spiced labneh
10 nos strawberries
1 medium onion, finely chopped
½ a lebanese cucumber
1 green chili, finely chopped
1 tablespoon pickled jalapeno peppers, sliced (optional(
handful of freshly chopped coriander
2-3 leaves of fresh mint, finely chopped
two pinches of pepper powder
Salt to taste
- Wash, hull and chop the strawberries into cubes. Add chopped cucumber, onion, green chili, jalapeno peppers.
- Toss well to mix. To this now add chopped coriander, chopped mint, pepper and salt. Toss to mix. Let this salsa sit for 15 minutes in the refrigerator for the flavors to mingle well.
- Just before serving, butter the bread slices on one side and toast it brown and crisp. Just toast one side of the bread.
- On the other side, spread a generous spoon of labneh, and load 2-3 teaspoon of strawberry salsa and top and serve immediately. Enjoy the waltz of flavors in your mouth, peace out! 🙂
