Today’s recipe is request from my elder one. He knows that i m doing a Sandwich series, so he asked me to make a pizza sandwich for his breakfast. I didn’t have pasta sauce in hand, so used tomato sauce with jalapeno and that was a hit, kiddo loved the sandwich and gave me a Thumbs up!
I have used onion, tomatoes and corn, you add capsicum or even broccoli. And 2 different cheeses, kid will never mind whatever you add along with.
With this recipe, we wrap the Sandwich series of Cooking Carnival 2016. Next week will be a Salad week. Here is the list of sandwiches i made for week 1.
4 slices of bread
1/4 cup of pizza sauce ( i used jalapeno tomato sauce)
1 medium onion, chopped fine
1 medium tomato, chopped fine
3 tbsp corn
4 slices of mozzarella cheese
2 slices of cheddar cheese
Oregano, as needed
Red chili flakes as needed
- Take corn in a Microwave safe mug, add 1/4 cup of water and little salt. Microwave high for 2 minutes. Drain and set aside.
To Assemble the sandwich
- Smear pizza sauce or tomato sauce on both slices of bread, add 2 tsp of chopped onion, 2 tsp of chopped tomato, 2 tsp of boiled corn, sprinkle oregano and red chili flakes, top it with a slice of mozzarella cheese and a slice of cheddar. close it with another bread slice.
- Toast the sandwich brown and crisp on both sides with little butter. Serve warm.
