the Wrap on Repeat
This recipe happened completely by accident. I had some mint thogayal left over from the day before, a block of feta sitting in the fridge that I'd bought for a salad, and a pack of store bought whole wheat wraps.
I wasn't really thinking, I just put it all together for my husband's breakfast one morning. And then my elder one tasted it. He wanted his own. So I made another one for him. Even my little one came over for a bite.
That's basically how I know a recipe is a keeper, when both my kids are fighting over something I threw together in ten minutes without a plan.
Taste test
Feta and mint chutney sounds like an odd combination if you've never tried it. I thought so too at first. But the salty creaminess of the feta against that herby, slightly spicy mint chutney just works.
Any condiment would work well here. I had some mint chutney so used it. You can use any salsa, dips, spiced hummus, i have a pretty looking beets hummus in the blog.
Somedays i add more veggies and throw in some greens too. Skip the feta and add some paneer or tofu. And a quick toast on the tava, and you've got something that tastes way more put together than the effort it actually takes.

Why You'll Love This Feta Cheese Wrap

My Experience With This Recipe
I've made several variations of wraps over the years, but this combination of feta cheese and mint chutney remains one of my favorites. If you love feta, check this gorgeous feta roses bread.
The saltiness of feta balances the fresh herbs in the chutney and the creaminess of labneh beautifully, creating a wrap that feels both light and satisfying.
It is also one of my go-to recipes when I need a quick lunch using ingredients already available in my kitchen.

Feta Cheese Mint Chutney Wrap | Easy Healthy Vegetarian Lunch Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 Whole Wheat Wraps I used store-bought
- 2 cucumber cut into sticks
- 1 onion cut into thin round slices
- ¼ cup feta cheese crumbled (see notes)
- ¼ cup mint chutney
- ¼ cup labneh cheese store bought
- Chili sauce and tomato ketchup as needed
other options
- Pickled cucumbers
- pickled jalapenos,
- shredded cabbage
- carrots
Instructions
- Keep all the ingredients ready by your side, before starting. Wash and chop the cucumber into sticks, Onions into thin slices.
- Place the wrap on a plate or chopping board, spread mint chutney generously, add crumbled feta.
- Lay down the cucumber sticks and onions, top it with some chilli sauce, tomato ketchup and labneh.
- I had some soaked fenugreek seeds in hand, i added that too to the wrap. Roll once, fold the sides like an envelope and continue rolling into a tight wrap.
- Heat a tava, place the wrap with folded side on the bottom, add some butter/ghee. Let it toast for a minute, carefully flip the roll to the other side and toast for another minute.
- Remove from the tava, cut into two half and serve with sauce of your choice.
Notes
- This is an older recipe from 2018. Since we now cook without onion and garlic at home, you can skip the onion if you prefer a sattvic version, it tastes great either way.
- You can skip feta and add some crumbled paneer or tofu.
- You can one or two falafels and make it more hearty.
- Add some rice and bean salad here along with sauces and make it a stunning chimichanga

Notes and Tricks
- I made this for my husband's breakfast box more than once, packed around 7 am for him to eat by 9, and it held up well, didn't go soggy at all. The trick is being generous with the chutney and sauces but not drowning the wrap in them.
- If you can toast it right before eating, do that, the texture is just better when it's warm and a little crisp. That said, even cold or at room temperature, it still tastes good, so don't stress if you're packing it for later.
- My kids like it milder, more ketchup, less chili sauce. My husband likes it spicier. I usually keep both sauces on the side so everyone can do their own thing.
- Don't feel locked into one chutney. Mint thogayal, mint pesto, coriander walnut pesto, all of them work beautifully here. Whatever chutney you've already got in your fridge is probably fair game.
- I sometimes add some leftover cutlets or paneer curries to the wraps. Easy way to add more protein to your morning meal.
Make Ahead and Store
These taste best fresh off the tava, but if you need to prep ahead, keep all necessary elements neatly packed in containers. Make the wrap, toast and serve when needed.
You can also assemble the wrap without toasting, wrap it tightly in foil, and refrigerate for up to a day. Toast it just before serving.
You can warm the tortilla on both sides on a pan, before assembling the stuffing. Roll it tight and refrigerate, and enjoy it for breakfast or brunch next day.
Common Questions About This Wrap
Yes. Use a plant based feta and swap labneh for a dairy free yogurt. Just check that your mint chutney doesn't have any dairy in it.
Crumbled paneer, halloumi, any soft cheese, all work well as substitutes.
In my house, yes, my elder one practically demanded his own the first time I made it. Just go easy on the chili sauce for younger kids.
Pita pockets or even a soft chapati work fine if wraps aren't available. You can make it into a sandwich with bread slices.

Wrapping It Up
This feta and mint chutney wrap came from a fridge clean out kind of morning, and honestly those are usually when my best recipes happen.
It's quick enough for a weekday breakfast, holds up well in a lunch box, and tastes like way more effort went into it than actually did. If you try it, let me know how it turns out for your family, especially if you experiment with a different chutney.
